Bob Trieger was born and raised in Boston and he currently lives in Salem, Massachusetts. He first started writing about boxing in 1975 as sportswriter for various newspapers and magazines, ranging from neighborhood weeklies to major daily newspapers. Trieger’s interest and role in boxing increased in the early 1990’s when he served as Director of Communications and Assistant General Manager at Wonderland Greyhound Park in Revere, MA. He was instrumental in terms of supporting and overseeing live and closed-circuit boxing events held there to provide additional revenue and marketing opportunities for the then struggling racetrack.
In 1998, Trieger founded his combat-sports publicity agency, Full Court PRESS, eventually serving through the years as the personal publicist for nine world champion boxers during their respective reigns (John “The Quietman” Ruiz, Beibut Shumenov, Paulie “Magic Man” Malignaggi, Jose Antonio Rivera, Demetrius “Boo Boo” Andrade, Randall “The Knock Out King” Bailey, Bermane “B. Ware” Stiverne, Holly “The Preacher’s Daughter” Holm, and Peter “Kid Chocolate” Quillin), plus six Olympians (Kevin McBride - Ireland, Antonio Tarver - USA, Jason Estrada - USA, Beibut Shumenov – Kazakhstan, Demetrius Andrade - USA), and Nico Hernandez - USA, in addition to working 35 world championships.
