Sébastien Bouchard is originally from Baie Saint-Paul, in the Charlevoix region.

The 33-year-old boxer fought 125 amateur fights, starting in heavyweight, before moving down the weight class to become three-time Quebec champion and win a silver medal at the Canadian championship in 2007.

It was in 2011 that he decided to start working for professionals. In his third outing with the pros, he defeated tough Ontarian Julius Bunda. Subsequently, his spectacular victories at the Bell Centre against Quebecers Glisandy Mejia and Francesco Cotroni made him a fixture on the local scene.

After an honorable defeat on points to New Yorker Frank Galarza in a bout aired on Showtime Network's ShoBox: The New Generation on May 16, 2014 at the Foxwoods Resort in Mashantucket, Connecticut, the man led by coach Francois Duguay has returned to the path of victory.

On December 19, 2014 at the Colisée Pepsi, Bouchard stopped Stéphane Ouellet’s toughest opponent, the Belgian Cedric Spera, before defeating the French explosive Denis Farias by points at the last gala in the history in this venue.

On November 28, 2015 in the under-card of the world championship fight between Lucian Bute and James DeGale, he was knocked out by Italian tough guy Giuseppe Lauri.

On January 30 at the Bell Centre, he took on Polish stylist Damian Mielewczyk by winning by unanimous decision.

During his first official performance under the GYM banner on June 4 at the Bell Centre, Bouchard dominated Belgian Arnaud Dimidschtein to earn a unanimous decision.

Five wins later, he got the incredible chance to secure his first three minor belts against Montreal's Ayaz Hussain (13-1-0). Unbelievable bad luck occurs in the fourth round when his left bicep breaks and causes the end of the fight to the dismay of his supporters.

His victorious comeback in a good way against Ontario's Mario Perez (20-7-5) sixteen months later suggests a light at the end of the tunnel, to be continued…
